About Me

Lakshmi Om (she, they) is a somatic therapist based in North Carolina and the founder of The Flourish Center for Somatic Healing, where she specializes in resolving pre- and perinatal trauma, early childhood trauma, developmental trauma, and their lasting embodied imprints. Drawing from a comprehensive background in nervous-system and attachment-based therapies, Lakshmi supports adults, children, and infants in releasing, integrating, and healing pivotal experiences from conception through early childhood so they may inhabit their present with greater ease, resilience, and wholeness.

Lakshmi’s integrative approach includes Pre and Perinatal Psychology, Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing®, DARe Attachment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy, HeartMath, the Safe and Sound Protocol, and the Rest and Restore Protocol. She also incorporates Neuroscience, Somatic, and Developmental Trauma coaching to help clients understand the physiology of their experiences and develop lasting nervous-system capacity. Her body-based practice and approach are an excellent compliment to talk therapy. Lakshmi works in each session through the lens of the Polyvagal Theory and Pre and Perinatal Psychology, believing in the view that they body holds our story from the very beginning.

With extensive training in pelvic floor yoga therapy and over twenty years of experience as a doula, Lakshmi offers knowledgeable support throughout the birthing continuum—before, during, and after delivery. Her background includes a BFA in Modern Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Illinois and more than 25 years of working intimately with the body’s structural, emotional, and energetic expressions.

Lakshmi’s work is grounded in the belief that healing emerges through connection—connection to one’s deepest self, to others, and to the innate intelligence of the body. Her intention with every client is to create the safety and attunement necessary for them to rediscover their inherent wisdom, resilience, and inner support. She approaches each client as an individual, without agenda, trusting in the wisdom of their system to heal.

She is also a volunteer with Transitions Hospice Home and serves as an assistant in DARe professional training programs, supporting the next generation of trauma-informed practitioners.
