About Me
Clinical psychologist, certified psychotherapist, and founding member, along with her teachers Dr Bogna Szymkiewicz and MA Tomasz Teodorczyk, of the Polish Society of Process Psychology , affiliated with the International Association of Process Oriented Psychology and the Polish Council for Psychotherapy. She is also a member of THE EMBODY LAB community, a proud graduate of The Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Mentorship Programme.
She conducts individual, couples, and family psychotherapy, collaborating with fellow Process Oriented Psychology therapist Tomasz Szwed-Stępkowski in working with patients in altered states of consciousness and their caregivers and families, helping them overcome trauma at "The Budzik Clinic"in Warsaw .
She is also a linguist, language instructor, and English translator.
Her primary areas of interest are relationships, both intrapsychic (with oneself) and interpersonal (with partners and family), as well as in broader social contexts, both in professional and private situations. Among other activities, she conducts workshops on memory, stress, and self-presentation as part of the "Relationship: Speaker - Audience" course in the Practical Rhetoric program at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
She is also a real estate agent, facilitating interpersonal relationships during the stressful process of buying, selling, and renting properties, effectively bringing both parties to favorable transactions.
She is interested in the relationships between various intrapsychic processes and their brain correlates. Her master's thesis, supervised by Prof. Piotr Jaśkowski and Dr. Małgorzata Gut (WSFiZ, UMK), focused on the study of attention processes using EEG. Subsequent EEG studies, designed under the supervision of Prof. Robert Van Der Lubbe (WSFiZ, University of Twente), were dedicated to finding correlates of consciousness.
A good psychotherapist what does it mean to me?
When seeking a good psychotherapist, it's advisable to trust individuals with the right experience. With extensive experience of 25 years practice, I can provide assistance regardless of the complexity of your problem. A good therapist encourages the patients to work on themselves effectively but very carefully with great respect to personal somatic experience. I understand that each person is unique, with different desires, needs, values, and experiences. Therefore, during sessions, I consider all aspects and levels of this experience, including the unconscious and bodily sensations, so that the individuals can fully develop and utilize their potential without limitations. I believe a good psychotherapist should be open, sincere, curious and respect not only the patient's individualism without any criticism but also the tempo of his process of growth - only in this way can they feel safe in the therapeutic relationship, and therapy can yield the expected results.
What does my psychotherapy look like?
During therapy, I assist in overcoming mental suffering caused by anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or addictions, using effective process-oriented therapy methods as well as somatic experiencing oriented approach. I work with dreams, physical symptoms, and the body. I offer regular sessions tailored to the patient's problem, accompanying them in healing and exploring further stages of the transformation process. I believe that the role of a good psychotherapist is to help individuals overcome problems and turn them into factors for personal development.
There is an option to conduct therapy sessions in English, so I warmly welcome foreigners to take advantage of the offer. If commuting for sessions is challenging, especially during the pandemic, I suggest online or phone sessions, particularly in crisis situations. As an experienced, good psychotherapist (based in Warsaw, Poland), I select tools that are adapted to the limitations imposed by conditions but demonstrate excellent effectiveness. I have completed numerous training sessions in process-oriented therapy, developmental couples therapy, emotion focused therapy, somatic experiencing and continuously update my knowledge and develop my skills to provide assistance at the highest level, fully tailored to the patient.
My therapeutic practice is based on the Ethical Code of the Polish Society of Process Psychology, and I undergo constant supervision.
