Rachael is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner (CHP), Certified Mind-Body Coach, mother, dancer, and designer. She has professional training in performance, movement education, trauma-informed counseling, developmental psychology, attachment repatterning, and family systems/ parts work. Rachael offers an approach that is contemplative, creative, nourishment-based, and life-affirming. Her practice is grounded within a social justice framework to catalyze practical and systemic change for the wellbeing and liberation of all life.
Rachael supports all expressions of gender and is trans/ queer friendly. She works with sensitive folks at all stages of life who long to manage stress and reclaim agency– so that they may live with more balance, clarity, and purpose. Sessions combine therapeutic counseling with hands-on support and creative, practical, and somatic skill building that can be applied to everyday life. Rachael draws on modalities including Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy, Mind-Body Coaching, Somatic EMDR, Internal Family Systems, contemporary and contemplative movement, Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering, Qi Gong, the expressive arts, massage therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. She offers individual and group sessions virtually and in-person out of her Berkeley Office.
Rachael is a student of wilderness, and offers her practice in honor of all her teachers, ancestors, and our living earth. Rachael studied ecology and landscape architecture at the graduate level, and worked for over a decade as an urban designer. She firmly believes that it is within the context of our environment (biophysical, social, psychological, cultural etc.) and its legacies of discrimination that we must negotiate and actuate matters of human health, safety, and dignity.
