Frequently Asked Questions

I’m a therapist or practitioner - how can I be listed on your directory?

We’d be thrilled to have you join us. Go here to find out more

How long is a session?

This will be a discussion between yourself and the therapist or practitioner you choose. Typically sessions are 50 - 60 minutes but this will vary. It’s another great question to ask when you contact your therapist.

Are your Directory Members all licensed therapists?

No. Please check the credentials, professional memberships and qualifications of the Directory Member as listed on their profile.

Can your therapists and practitioners offer face to face or online sessions, or both?

Our Directory Members may offer face to face, online sessions or both. If you prefer to see someone face to face then include that in your search criteria. As we are a global platform you may find that there are limited therapists available close to you in which case online could be an excellent option.

Do I have to share any of my personal or health information with you?

No. All you need to share when you contact a therapist is your name, email address and phone number. Plus a brief message to the therapist. We recommend that you don’t disclose any personal health information in that first contact but simply ask them to contact you.

When you contact one of our Directory Members your details will be added to The Embody Lab’s email communication list and you can unsubscribe at any time.

What is the role of The Embody Lab in my search for a therapist or practitioner?

The role of The Embody Lab is to connect you with a therapist or practitioner and no more. All of our Directory Members are independent providers and not employees of The Embody Lab - and we don’t oversee them professionally. Our mission is to create a directory where people seeking somatic and mind-body based services can connect with practitioners and therapists who can help.

How much do the sessions cost?

The session cost will be set by the therapist or practitioner you choose to work with. They are completely independent of The Embody Lab. We do recommend that you confirm the costs and if insurance rebates are available (depending on your individual circumstances) when you contact them.

Do I pay The Embody Lab to find a therapist or practitioner?

No. This is a free service to search and connect with a therapist or practitioner.

What does “Verified” by The Embody Lab mean?

The “Verified” label is provided to let you know we have made reasonable efforts to confirm that the name and contact details provided by the Directory Member are correct and we have viewed copies of the qualifications and certificates cited by the professional at the time they listed with us.

Please note that we do not make any representations or warranties with regard to anything posted by our directory members.
