Laurie Clark brings 12 years of experience facilitating bereavement groups in community.
Her somatic approach integrates bottom-up and top-down processes. A bottom-up co-regulated relationship uses empathetic, attuned presence to safely access emotions held in the body, allowing grief to be processed, emotional blockages softened, and resilience fostered. Top-down reflective awareness and emotional literacy help participants name, understand and integrate their experiences.
Combining embodied co-regulation and compassionate witnessing with cognitive reflection provides a comprehensive framework for navigating grief safely and supportively.
Bereavement Education and Advocacy
Bereavement education is essential in schools, workplaces, and homes.
Normalising conversations about grief dismantles stigma while honouring the profound impact of loss. This work creates safe spaces where grief can be witnessed, respected, and integrated, fostering connection, resilience, and renewal.
Drawing on over 25 years working with youth, Laurie integrates bereavement education into the outdoor classroom. She explores grief through seasons, growth, change, and renewal.
Her children's audiobook and educational bereavement/SEL resource
Where Memories Grow: A Garden Story of Love, Loss, and Renewal supports educators and carers in facilitating compassionate, age-appropriate conversations about grief
Nature-based learning, ecoliteracy, and reflective storytelling help children understand memory, loss, and resilience.
